Save the date: Clarification Session about technical consultation

Portugal Space promotes an interpretation session on the technical consultation on the civil liability insurance of space operators. The event is free of charge, but registration is mandatory.

The Portuguese Space Agency launched this week a technical consultation on the Terms of Reference for the definition of the Civil Liability Insurance of space operators. Interested parties are called to comment on the minimum capital of the civil liability insurance contract and also on the minimum conditions of the insurance contract and the cases in which insurance may be waived or reduced, amongst other topics. Interested parties can also comment on the maximum amount of the State’s right of recourse over the operator, a right established in the Portuguese Space Act.

To stimulate the debate, Portugal Space is organising a clarification session on the subject next Monday, open to all interested parties. The event will take place online and will be attended by the President of Portugal Space, Chiara Manflettti, and the Legal Advisor of the Agency, Carolina Rego Costa.

In addition to a presentation on the Terms of Reference for the definition of Space Operators’ Liability Insurance and the State’s right of return, the interested parties will be given the opportunity to clarify doubts on this same subject.

The event is free of charge, but registration is mandatory.
