Originally from Terceira Island in the Azores, Duarte Cota believes that space can make a real difference in the learning process. For that reason, he dedicated 25 years of his life to teaching, bringing the Universe into every classroom he entered, always with one goal in mind: to help build a more developed, fair, and informed society.

With a degree and a master’s in Computer Engineering and Web Technology, Duarte has a particular interest in developing information system architectures and software for data acquisition and remote control — areas in which he combines technical precision with scientific curiosity.

Outside of work, he keeps on inventing. He both creates and programs software applications and ventures into the kitchen. His dishes have even earned him a title: friends and family affectionately call him the “Space Master Chef.”
