Eduardo Ferreira
Vice-president
Eduardo Ferreira is an engineer who graduated from Instituto Superior Técnico and works at NAV, the Portuguese Air Navigation Service Provider, in the role of ATSEP (Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel) supporting ATM systems. His work frequently involves providing training in technical, operational and teamwork subjects, as a certified trainer and TRM facilitator.
Eduardo’s passion for education, associated with his technical and aerospace background, drive his contributions to the promotion of STEM for young students. He considers the know-how from aviation and other safety-critical, high-reliability industries, as having a large potential of application in many other fields. Education, from his point of view, is the right place for the dissemination of this culture.
He has cooperated with the educational system on several projects, performing workshops for students and teachers, especially in the subject of teamwork. He has advised teams that achieved first and second place in the European CANSAT competition before the establishment of a national competition. He now participates as a member of the jury, contributing also to CANSAT workshops for teachers. He is involved with Ciência Viva and Esero in the Space Teacher conferences and published in the 3rd Experiment@International Conference, a forum about Online Experimentation In Science and Engineering Education.
